In a powerful collaboration, UN Women and The Makers Global have launched the MakHer programme in Sri Lanka — an initiative funded by the Republic of Korea to support young women entering high-growth industries in STEM. The programme combines mentorship, hands-on workshops, and leadership training to bridge gender gaps in tech and innovation.
Ms. Nevindaree Premarathne, CEO of The Makers Global, emphasized the initiative’s mission: “Advancing young women in STEM is about building a future where quality education, gender equality, and economic growth thrive through innovation.”
